Preparing for Shipment

Preparing for auto transporting

Transport by car is simple enough: load your vehicle into the back of a truck, unload it, load it up and drive it away.

Fortunately, preparing your car for the trip doesn’t require a lot of time or money, but shipping can be an ordeal, especially if you don’t have to do as much as signing a check. If you plan to move, you should remember that some vehicles cost more than others. If something goes wrong during delivery, it can cost a significant amount of money to not properly prepare the vehicle for transport if it is not properly prepared for it.

Because of its size and weight, shipping an SUV is more expensive than shipping a small car, but it is worth it.

This allows you to clearly identify any physical damage that occurs during transport and can be washed before and after collection.

Before removing items left in the car, make sure that nothing has changed during transport and that the interior has been damaged. If the vehicle has been emptied before transport for a few other good reasons, read our Car Transport Insurance Guide for more information. After washing the car, clean the interior as often as possible before and after transport.

If your Audi A6 has an alarm system, deactivate it and if the alarm system is triggered while you have a car transporter in the car, you may be able to deactivate it.

When many car companies take cars out of their cars, they require that they have no more than a quarter of the fuel tank in the car to take care of them. Just a few extra gallons can mean a lot of extra weight, so make sure your car has a minimum of it.

If your car has custom-made accessories, make sure it is secured and removed before shipping. The more things have to stick to the car, the more likely it is that something will break or get dirty. You can fold the mirrors on your vehicle, pull out the antennas, etc. , But when you deliver a convertible, you have made sure that the top is up and properly secured.

If there are open seams or holes, seal them to prevent moisture from entering the inside. If you cannot secure the roof, ask your driver for a closed container for shipping.

Even if the process does not take many miles, your vehicle must be in good condition, even if it is only a few miles away.

If your car has defects that would affect the start, loading or parking of your vehicle, make sure they have been made and leave them with the car carrier. Otherwise, the vehicle may leak during operation for delivery reasons, which may cause problems for the transporter. If your cars are out of service during delivery for any reason, the car carrier may charge you an additional fee for unloading. Inform your transporter of any problems with loading and parking, such as leaks, parking leaks or other problems.

The driver often carries a mobile phone with him, so that one always stays in contact with the vehicle. Get the number of the company driver before sending the car, so you can always contact him or her.
